My name is Parastou (pronounced pah-ras-too) and I am a user experience (UX) designer living in NYC.
My love for sculpture, painting, and form led me to purse a B.S. in architecture from the Ohio State University, where I began to discover the richness in the functional and social aspects of architecture--architecture as service.
After college I moved to Iran to spend two years in business development, art direction, and public relations for the Investment Banking Group. I coordinated discussions and events geared towards dialogue between Iranian architects and architects abroad, worked in collaboration with the British and Italian embassies, and promoted Iranian companies in Dubai, Bahrain, and Paris.
My interest in the power of communications tools and technologies led me back to the US to pursue my masters degree at New York University’s Interactive Telecommunications Program. Here I began to explore social media, documentary and video production and distribution, physical computing, and interaction design.
As part of a user-centered design process, I research and define key user needs and design accordingly. I am lucky to love what I do and to work with amazing people.
